The BST has been developed by the German National Standards
Laboratory (PTB) recently for applications in the field of
intravascular brachytherapy to assure that the calibration
of all radiation measuring instruments is traceable to national
standards.
The device consists of:
- the basic irradiation facility
- Sr-90 source, nominal activity 7.4GBq
- lead shielding rings
- lead lid with two handles
