Dose calibrator checking sources are designed to perform
periodic calibration checks on radionuclide calibrators to
demonstrate the measurement stability of the equipment. The
QC-tests may be required by national or state regulations.
Tube sources are used either for energy calibration of gamma
counters (uncalibrated) or for detector efficiency calibration
(calibrated). Calibrated sources are supplied with a certificate
of the German Calibration Service (DKD) and are traceable
to international standards.
The nuclide is homogeneously incorporated in 1ml resin in
a plastic tube. The empty volume is filled with inactive plastic.
For easy identification of the radionuclide the active volume
is colour coded.
