Line sources are used for determining the
centre of rotation of gamma cameras.
Construction
Co-57 is mixed homogeneously with a plastic resin in a flexible
tube (2 mm in diameter, 200 mm long) which is sealed in an
aluminium tube. The tube is mounted in an acrylic glass holder.
The line source (total dimensions: 6.5 mm diameter x 225 mm
length) is supplied in a lead-shielded wooden presentation
box.
Thyroid phantoms are designed for checking gamma cameras
and scanners and for demonstration purposes.
Construction
The radioactive material is homogeneously distributed in
a plastic resin, covered with a protective coating. The phantom
has the shape of a normal thyroid with ‘hot’ and
‘cold’ nodules.
The phantom is available containing:
Ba-133 (92%)/ Cs-137 (8%) to simulate I-131 or
Co-57 to simulate Tc-99m.
