Depleted uranium and lead collimator, code TCNL719 or
TCNU719
Both collimators have a shield of 6.4kg (14lb) of depleted
uranium behind the exposed source position providing a high
level of radiation protection.
The collimator code THCNL719
is supplied with two stainless steel clad, lead filled, beam
shaping discs whereas the collimator code TCNU719 is supplied
with stainless steal clad, depleted uranium filled beam
shaping discs. An optional adjustable labstand is avaialble.
Each disc is easily mounted on the front of the main shield by
means of two knurled thumbnuts therefore minimising the time
taken to change from mode to the other.
Panoramic exposures
are made by inserting the 20° x 360° disc. Directional
exposure are made by inserting the 30° x 60° disc. A signal
switch and connector are built into the collimators for use
with a source position indicator. The switch actuates when the
source is correctly positioned in the exposed condition.
